Molly's trunk?

Now I know this was addressed as a possible retirement in the sticky, but has anyone heard anything else about Molly's trunk for sure retiring? Or any rumors about what the new trunk will be or look like?
Though I don't intend on getting Molly anytime soon (but let's face it, that could change quickly!), I'd hate to lose out on such a great item as her trunk, especially when seeing the new "trunk" for Felicity that is not as nice compared with her old clothes press. I've been getting some of the Molly stuff on the retirement list, especially those I've always liked (the after school outfit!), but I was wondering if anybody thought it would be a good idea to invest in Molly's trunk?

GET IT. You will love it.

Watch ebay, many of the old PC trunks show up. Sometimes you can get a good price for them.

Personally, I just don't care for either Molly's or Samantha's trunks. I prefer the horizontal trunks like Addy's, Josefina's and Kirsten's better. I don't think Molly's will hold very much. I'm holding out for a new and improved version, but I just hope it isn't going to be a 2-doll item like the put out for Felicity.

One for, one against. I'm on the fence. I love Molly's trunk because it reminds me of a much cheaper doll trunk I had when I was little. So I bought two of Molly's trunks when I first started buying the AGs, plus one of Sam's steamers and Addy's wooden chest. I don't know if the newer versions would have the same problem, but on one of my Molly trunks, all the cardboard linings sort of curled up and peeled away from the metal. I still use it but it annoys me that such an expensive item did that! I use all the little drawers for socks and accessories. The tall side will hold probably half a dozen outfits on hangers, slightly squished. I still like it, though, and will be sad when it's retired.

I love Molly's trunk and strongly recommend it. While it doesn't hold quite as much as Addy's or Josefina's, it does hold quite and bit and it takes up a lot less floor space. Given AG's sorry track record in replacing Felicity's clothes press, I wouldn't count on them bringing out a new Molly trunk that you'd want. My advice, act now!

I'm sad to hear about the paper curling on the trunk. DD got it for Christmas from her grandfather. We have really enjoyed it. She has all of Molly's outfits except the Dude Ranch. She organized it herself - a little different than I would have - and everything fits. She doesn't have all the accessories. I have the Lowes Trunk that many of us found at Christmas and although I love it I like that Molly's clothes hang as opposed to fold. Who knows what they have in mind for a rerelease? I'm afraid we will want it too [img]tongue.gif[/img] .
